Education and Experience
Doctor Alan L. Kalischer has been serving central New Jersey’s cardiac care needs for over 35 years. He graduated from New York University and went on to obtain his medical degree from New York Medical College. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at State University of New York Downstate Medical Center. Dr. Kalischer was then accepted into the renowned and highly competitive cardiology fellowship for 3 years at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center where he did special training in echocardiography and nuclear cardiology along with becoming proficient in cardiac catheterizations and cardiac pacemakers. He stayed on as staff physician at Presbyterian Hospital for two additional years before moving to New Jersey in 1984 to begin his cardiology career.
After working for over 20 years in a group cardiology practice in Scotch Plains, Dr. Kalischer felt he could best serve his patient’s needs in a solo practice setting and opened new offices in Fanwood and Westfield.

Doctor Alan L. Kalischer is trained as a general cardiologist, but also has specialized certification in echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, and vascular evaluations. He also has great interest in cardiac rhythm disturbances and heart failure and blood pressure control. He can easily reach his many contacts in specialized areas of cardiology in order to provide the highest quality of care to his patients. The office schedule is not overbooked, allowing him to give each patient the proper attention and time.

Accreditations
In addition to being a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, Doctor Kalischer also holds special certification in echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, and vascular imaging.
Associations
Along with his staff privileges at Overlook and JFK hospitals, Dr. Kalischer also holds an academic appointment at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, as Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine.
